Salvatore Bunetta Jr., 61, of North Port, Fla., passed away Monday, Nov. 26, 2012.

He was born Dec. 30, 1950, in Miami, Fla.

Salvatore moved to North Port from Pompano Beach, Fla., 17 years ago, and he worked for Sarasota County Government, from which he retired in January of this year. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and served his country during the Vietnam War. Salvatore was a dedicated and loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Michele; daughters, Ashley, Courtney, and Whitney, all of North Port; brother, Patrick Bunetta of Chicago; sister, Concetta Gilliand of Clearwater, Fla.; grandchildren, Nathaniel, Trey, Mariah, and Julie; niece, Tina; and nephews, Tim, and Robbie. Salvatore was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth; and his parents, Salvatore and Francis Bunetta.

A memorial gathering will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Farley Funeral Home in North Port with a scripture service at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2012.
