Alice B. Soules, 81, of North Port, Fla., passed away the afternoon of Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, in North Port.

She was born July 14, 1931, the daughter of Cornelius and Gertrude (Pipe) Boers, in Jamaica, Queens, N.Y.

Alice received her public education in New York schools and for several years, worked as a bookkeeper in the auto industry. She and her husband came to North Port, from Mobile, Ala. in 1994.

Alice is survived by her loving husband, Fred S. Soules of North Port; son, Robert of Lynn Haven, Fla.; brother, Edward Boers of Schenectady, N.Y.; sister, Gertrude Vogt of Juno Beach, Fla.; and twin grandsons, Travis and Michael Soules.

Friends are invited to be with the family from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at the Chapel of Kays-Ponger and Uselton Funeral Home, 1935 S. Tamiami Trail, Venice, Fla., where a service to honor her life will be at 1 p.m. She will be laid to rest at the Sarasota National Cemetery.
