Victor F. Sperling

Victor F. Sperling, 90, of Sarasota, Fla., passed away Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at the Tidewell Hospice Facility.

He was born Aug. 17, 1922, at home in Vineland N.J.

Victor graduated from Vineland High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1943. Serving his country as a First Lieutenant he trained future pilots to fly AT6’s. Victor was a Master Electrician and owned Superior Electric until his retirement to La Casa retirement community in North Port, Fla. He was a member of the La Casa chorale group, and served on the Board of Directors.

Victor is survived by his wife of 66 years, Gloria Caccese Sperling; children, Joyce (Roy Simpkins) Simpkins of Garner, N.C., Victor M. (Carol) Sperling of Alexandria, Va., and Nancy (Greg) Sarajew of Sarasota; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, in the chapel at Christ United Methodist Church, 1475 Center Rd., Venice, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tidewell Hospice Inc., or Christ United Methodist Church in Venice. For online condolences, please visit www.mckeenorthport.com.
