PUNTA GORDA — Even though Kevin Williams, owner of the Punta Gorda Speedway, has not officially announced whether he’ll seek to renew his speedway’s lease, his landlord, the Charlotte County Airport Authority, took some steps Thursday to begin searching for another tenant.

Authority Executive Director Gary Quill pointed out Williams hasn’t paid Charlotte County property taxes on the speedway since he took over its lease nearly three years ago. The taxes are delinquent by some $30,000, Quill said.
