Water-sewer hookups, de-annexation could cost millions

NORTH PORT — If the city wants out of its contract with Sarasota County, it must agree to run water and sewer lines to the Warm Mineral Springs Day Spa, and then de-annex the property from the city, according to Tuesday’s proposal from county commissioners.

The $2 million deal, which could mean a loss of future millions to North Port, took less than half an hour to pitch and vote on.
