Robinson sets sights on jobs, economy
Christine Robinson
Newly re-elected County Commissioner Christine Robinson said jobs and the economy are at the top of her list of goals to accomplish in her first full four-year term.
Robinson, a 38-year-old Republican, was appointed by former Gov. Charlie Crist in 2010 to replace the retiring Shannon Staub. In the Nov. 6 election she captured about 55 percent of the vote in her first actual campaign for the post, and said she was happy to have the opportunity to finish some projects she has begun over the last two years. She will be sworn in again Tuesday at the Sarasota County Administration Center. “We just started tackling the workforce issues regarding our local industry needing a trained workforce, to fulfill their needs,” Robinson said. “That’s something I think will really be important to the future economic growth of Sarasota County.”
