NORTH PORT — It took seven years, five groups of commissioners, a lot of patience and teamwork, but the Cocoplum Village Shops opening signified a partnership among developers, the city and the community.
Those were the thoughts from City Commissioners Linda Yates and Tom Jones Saturday while speaking to hundreds of residents who gathered for free goodies and fun during the four-hour grand-opening celebration.
