Joan Dick, president of the Lake Wales branch of AAUW, and Linda Taylor "Green" STEM coordinator look on as fourth and fifth grade girls from 7 different schools in Lake Wales work on their projects for recycling. "This is the group's 138th anniversary and we are celebrating by encouraging and inspiring girls to continue their education in the field of math science and engineering because that is where the high paying jobs are," said Dick. Lake Wales is the only branch of the AAUW in Polk County.
