Larry E. “Sticky” Campbell

Larry E. “Sticky” Campbell, 71, of Lake Wales passed away Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013 at the Winter Haven Hospital.

He was born Sept. 4, 1941 in Lake Wales to the late Selma and Nina Campbell; he was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a retired equipment technician for Verizon and a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church. He was Lake Wales High School’s biggest fan of all athletics and was a very dedicated volunteer. He was the clock operator for football and basketball for many years. He was also a Lake Wales Little League volunteer and umpire.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Byron Campbell. Survivors include his sons, Brad and Heather-Jo Campbell of Pembroke Pines and Scott Campbell of Lake Wales; brothers, Ronald Campbell of Fort Myers and Tommy Campbell of Tulsa, Okla.; sister-in-law, Earlene Campbell of Fort Myers; four granddaughters, McKenzie, Brooke, Maryska and Hanya Campbell.

Memorial service will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 11, 2013 at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church. There will be a reception following the service at the Holy Spirit Parrish Center. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Lake Wales Little League or the Lake Wales Booster Club. Condolences may be sent to the family and the webcast of the service can be viewed at www.marionnelsonfuneralhome.com.
