Robert Bowman
Robert Bowman, 70, a life long resident of Findlay, died at 9:54 p.m., Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at the Cleveland Clinic.
He was born to the late Paul Kaufman & Arlein Rose on Dec. 4, 1941, in Findlay. They were divorced and he was adopted by Joe E. Bowman. He married Naoma “Gale” Yoakam on Dec. 4, 1970, at Ash Street First Assembly of God in Findlay. They were married for 37 years and she preceded Robert in death on Sept. 5, 2008.
Robert graduated in 1959, from Findlay High School. He had worked for the U.S. Geological Survey for about four months and for Cooper Tire and Rubber Company. He then sold aquariums and tropical fish for 15 years at Bowman’s Aquarium, he later bought & sold houses for 10 years and then opened up Bowman’s Antiques for about 22 years.
He is survived by his daughter GayLynn Bowman-Stewart (Major Tyler Stewart); and his three grandchildren, Alexandria, Austen, & Adriana all of Fort Knox, Ky.; his aunt, Clare O’Dell of McComb and his uncle, Louis Howard Rose, I of Findlay.
Robert was born again in 1952, at the Faith Mission Parsonage, where he was also baptized. He became a member of the Blanchard Avenue Pentecostal Church of God during the time Maureen Hollman and Evelyn Divine were pastors. He was a member of Hope Temple until 1989.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, Findlay.
A funeral service is 10 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, at the Blanchard Avenue Pentecostal Church of God, Findlay, with Rev. L.D. Roessler officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Findlay.
