Florida’s Natural Growers is hosting their first annual Charity Classic 5-K Nature Run/Walk. Some of the best women golfers in the world be running alongside those in the community who sign up for the Nature Run/Walk. In addition to the Run/Walk, there is a golf tournament. The event will begin at the Florida’s Natural Grove House Visitors Center in Lake Wales, Fla. at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013. Registration starts at 7 a.m. The Kids Fun Run for ages eight and under will start at 9:30 a.m. Awards will be presented at 10 a.m. The course is a combination off-road hills, wetlands and natural Florida terrain. The cost is $25 per participant. Children 13 and under are free. Home Depot will be facilitating a build your own bird house project and the Lake Wales YMCA will have an obstacle course and games for the kids. All proceeds from this event will benefit the Florida’s Natural Growers Foundation. During the past four years, the Foundation has awarded grants to the Central Florida community totaling nearly $500,000.
