Brooke Olivia Adams and Andrew William Allen

The gazebo in the Gardens at Lake Ashton was the setting for the marriage of Brooke Olivia Adams of Lake Wales to Andrew William Allen of Lakeland. at 7 p.m. on May 25, 2013. Michael LeBlanc, justice of the peace and youth minister of Lubbock, Texas, the bridegroom’s friend, officiated at the double-ring ceremony. Wedding music, arranged by the bridegroom, was provided by a string quartet who were friends of the couple.

The bride is the daughter of James and Tricia Adams of Lake Wales and granddaughter of Donald and Meg Olson of Bolivia, N.C., and James and Betty Adams of Bushnell, Fla. The bridegroom is the son of Ross and Karla Allen of Lake Wales and grandson of John E. Allen of Tampa and the late Mary Allen and the late G. Max and Joanne Kimbrel.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a strapless fit and flare gown with a lace overlay and embellished sash. She wore a chapel-length train and carried a bouquet of peonies, roses and anemones in blush pink and ivory.

Maid of honor Caitlin Knowles of Orlando, wore a black chiffon gown; matron of honor was Lauren Gilmore of Lakeland, and bridesmaids were Amie Heinrich of Tampa and Erin Wall of Tallahassee. The matron of honor and bridesmaids wore formal gowns in shades of blush and carried bouquets of tulips and peonies.

Best man was Kenneth Gabel of Lakeland and groomsmen were Brad Esau of Port St. Lucie; Chad Gilmore of Lakeland and Ethan Gilmore of Lake Wales.

The reception was held at Lake Ashton ballroom decorated in the bride’s colors of blush, ivory and black with silver candelabra decorated with roses and tulips in blush and ivory on each table. The bride chose a cupcake tower for her wedding cake.

Prenuptial events included a bridal luncheon at Chalet Suzanne, hosted by the bride’s mother and grandmother Betty Adams, and the rehearsal dinner hosted by the bridegroom’s parents at L’InContro restaurant, Lake Wales.

The bride is a 2013 graduate of the University of Central Florida in Orlando with a B.S. degree in communications and is employed by Geico Insurance Company. The bridegroom is a 2011 graduate of the University of South Florida in Tampa with a B.A. degree in music — jazz piano. He is self-employed.

They took a wedding trip to Seattle and San Juan Islands, Wash., and reside in Lakeland.
