Seeking support for recreation from the city
Lake Wales is not in the game in providing recreational opportunities as far as Robbie Shields is concerned.
“We’re really not participating,” Shields said during Monday’s Recreation Advisory Commission meeting at City Hall, “We have to have people working to bring things here.”
He added that in his opinion “recreation has been cut to the bare bones.” Without a recreation staff it is up to volunteers to run the various leagues for the city.
