Giving away a good bit of size and speed in this one, the Lake Placid Green Dragon junior varsity football team found itself on the short end of a 36-20 score Thursday night in a game played against the Hardee Wildcats in Wauchula.
“Last year Hardee beat our middle school by 50-something to nothing and won over our J.V. team last season 46-6. Since is this pretty much the same group of kids involved in those two games, I think we’ve done very well indeed. I hate to lose, but we’re making progress at this level,” said Lake Placid Junior Varsity Coach John Merlo.
