The Lake Placid Lady Dragon varsity soccer team rolled to a 5-0 win over the Avon Park Red Devils in the first game of a boys’/girls’ doubleheader played at Avon Park’s Joe Franza Stadium Thursday night, Dec. 20.

The sun had just begun to set when Lake Placid notched its initial goal of the game. At 31:05 of the first period Jenna Blount booted one over the outstretched arms of the Red Devil goalkeeper about 15 yards in front of the goal. The ball appeared to gently sail up, over the goalie, and then down into the net.
