A 33-year-old Lake Placid man shot during an altercation early Monday morning, Dec. 30, is recuperating from his wounds after a stay in an area hospital, according to a press release from the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office.

Jimmy Howard was shot during an altercation about 12:30 a.m. outside Highway Park Liquors at Vision Street and Crestmore Drive in the Highway Park community just south of Lake Placid.
