A 56-year-old woman died as a result of injuries she sustained in a single-car crash Friday morning near Lake Placid.

The driver, 56-year-old Ming Lei of Davie was traveling northbound on
U.S. 27 when an attempt to switch lanes caused him to lose control of his 2004 Honda Pilot. Lei attempted to change lanes again, causing the Pilot to fishtail. Lei then lost control of the vehicle and exited the road into the shoulder ditch.
