The Special Weapons And Tactics team from the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office participated in the 30th anniversary SWAT Roundup International held Dec. 2-7 at the Orange County Sheriff’s Office range. The event featured 51 teams from across the globe and included education, training, a trade show and competition.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office, the Criminal Justice Institute at Valencia Community College, Florida SWAT Association, and the Orlando Winter Park and Maitland police department collaborated to present the event. Joining several teams from across the United States were squads from Sweden, Bosnia, Hungary, Jamaica, St. Maarten, Brazil, Switzerland and Romania.
