An alert neighbor has been credited with helping the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office apprehend two burglary suspects Monday, Nov. 26 in the 700 block of Ruth Street in Avon Park.

The incident unfolded when a call to Central Dispatch advised of a burglary in progress. The caller said he heard a loud crash and saw two subjects hanging around a residence where he knew no one was home.
