Highlands County Sheriff’s members Robin Sanders, R.N. and Detention Deputy Dale Vaughn received Merit Awards at the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office’s recent Quarterly Recognition Ceremony.

According to the merit recognition, on Aug. 14, 2012, an inmate in the county jail appeared to suffer a seizure and became unresponsive. A medical emergency was called by the post officer.
