Grady W. Proctor, 80, of Sebring, Fla., passed away Monday, July 29, 2013, at Good Shepherd Hospice House in Sebring.
A native of Nocatee, he was born
Jan. 18, 1933, to Grace Lucille and George W. Proctor. He served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany. Mr. Proctor was the former owner of Proctor Grocery in DeSoto County, moving to Lake Placid in 1971. An active real estate broker in Highlands County, he received the prestigious title of Emeritus Realtor. He enjoyed hunting, golf, fishing and spending time with family and friends. He was a member of the Placid Temple Church of God in Lake Placid.
Mr. Proctor is survived by his wife of 58 years, Betty; daughter Sylvia Proctor; son Randy Proctor (Debbie); grandchildren, Randy Proctor, Jr. (Melissa) and Adam Proctor (Kristina); great-grandson, Trey; a brother Larry Proctor (Elaine) and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services to celebrate Mr. Proctor’s life were Friday Aug. 2 at Placid Temple Church of God, Lake Placid with Sr. Pastor Joe S. Brooks and Pastor Troyleen Hodges officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery.
