Julian Sapp, 79, of Lake Placid died unexpectedly Tuesday morning, July 16, 2013, at his home.
Born June 14, 1934 in Sebring to Georgie Bell and Olon Asbury Sapp, he was a lifelong Lake Placid resident. After high school, he served two years in the U.S. Army. He later founded and operated Sapp’s Caladiums, a business he managed for 35 years. Mr. Sapp was a recipient of the Lake Placid Pioneer Man of the Year award.
Mr. Sapp is survived by his children, Gary (Rose), Bubby (Vera), Julia McClelland (Ray); a sister, Wanda Sullivan; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Faye in 1992.
Graveside services and interment were at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 20 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lake Placid with Pastor Jack White celebrating.
Funeral arrangements were under the devotion of Michael A. Brochetti Funeral Home, Lake Placid.
