Placid Lakes Party Line
The second annual Girls Get Together Day spearheaded by Lynn Biliak will be Sunday at the Placid Lakes Town Hall, starting at 1 p.m. This is a great way to meet all your neighbors, and all you have to do to RSVP is call the office at 465-4888, give Bonnie your name and the state you came from, and she’ll make sure you get “tagged.” Bring a dish to share. There will be prizes, games and a lot of laughs. No men allowed!
Carol Lingren will introduce “Swedish Weaving” Monday, Feb. 4 at the Town Hall from 1 to 3 p.m. This is a very beautiful style of weaving done on “Monk’s” cloth with a special flat needle. Carol will have her tapestry hanging, and runners on display, along with instructional materials. This first meeting will be an introduction to the art and what you will need to start. The group will meet again Feb. 18 to really get started with a project. Classes for March will be on the 4th and 18th. Call Carol at 863-699-0136 to sign up for the class. This is an entirely new style of weaving, a prize-winning one: Carol won a prize last year for her wall hanging. Classes are free, of course.
