Brown Bag Lunch series focuses on Florida history
Paleolithic people who populated Florida during the period of 15000 to 12000 B.C. is the subject of the first in a series of Brown Bag Lunch programs at the Lake Placid Memorial Library. The opening session will be Friday at noon with Lake Placid Historical Society and archaeology graduate student Lee Fisher as the speaker.
Libraries across the state are celebrating the 500th anniversary of Ponce de Leon’s discovery of Florida with programs celebrating the history of the Sunshine State. The Brown Bag Lunches are part of this nod to Florida’s colorful history, beginning with a look at what we know of Florida’s earliest inhabitants.
