Lake Placid Police Chief Phil Williams could soon be the top administrator for the town of Lake Placid.

With discussion centering on the approaching retirement of Town Clerk Arlene J. Tuck, attention had turned to changing Tuck’s position to clerical duties and hiring an administrator to handle day-to-day operations. And the town council’s apparent choice is Williams.
