Ryan Miller, former band director at Lake Placid High School, was awarded a Ph.D in Public Administration from Florida State University during recent graduation ceremonies.

The son of Harry and Diane Miller of Lakeland, he attended Polk County schools where he graduated from Kathleen High School as co-valedictorian. Miller completed his undergraduate work at Florida Southern College where he earned a Bachelors in Music Education and then spent four years as band director at LPHS.
