Many longtime Lake Placid residents already knew Lake Placid is America’s most interesting town. Now it’s official. Reader’s Digest magazine has named Lake Placid “America’s Most Interesting Town” for 2012.

Featured across two pages of the January edition of Reader’s Digest is a narrative and pictures of Lake Placid’s murals, clown school and caladiums. The recognition comes at the close of a contest that asked readers to tell the magazine why their hometown is America’s Most Interesting Town.
