At the conclusion of their dance, the women participating in the "flash mob" dance pointed fingers toward the sky.
On Thursday, Feb. 14 at 9:30 a.m., Clerk of Courts Stacy Butterfield, and Janey Stratton, courthouse advocate with the Peace River Center’s Victim Services, and their respective staffs and volunteers, joined forces with activists around the world in support of V-Day and One Billion Rising, global activist movements to end violence against women and girls.
In Bartow, they, as well as other members of the county government performed a short dance in the lobby of the Polk County Courthouse, stomped their feet and raised a finger to the sky, all in a nationwide effort to stamp out domestic violence.
