Georgia P. Eastman, 98, passed away Friday, Aug. 9, 2013, at her residence in Bartow of natural causes.
Born Sept. 17, 1914, in Taylor County, Fla., Mrs. Eastman was a resident of Bartow for
13 years, moving from Mulberry where she had been a resident for over 48 years.
She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Mulberry where she was very active serving as Past President of the Women’s Missionary Union and Director of the Girls Auxiliary. She also served as Sunday School and Bible School teacher for many years.
Mrs. Eastman was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, James H. Eastman, and daughter, Lola Harleman.
She is survived by three daughters, Blanche Bryant and husband Sam, Homeland, Fla.; Georgia Eastman and husband John Stuart, Memphis, Tenn.; Cindi Beahm, Lakeland; sister, Cappy Mesa, Jacksonville, Fla.; four grandchildren, Rebecca Mohan, Ian Penhallegon, John Eastman-Stuart and Dustin Penhallegon and three great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013, at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow.
Funeral service is at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
