Beth Crandall, 86, of Avon Park, Fla., passed away at home on July 25, 2013, after a long illness.
She was born on Aug. 5, 1926, in Buffalo, N.Y, the daughter of George M. and Gertrude T. Williams.
She grew up in Kennedy, N.Y., and graduated from Buffalo State College for Teachers.
Beth was married to Norman P. Leege from from 1948 until his death in 1978.
She was married to Vernon “Bugg” Crandall from 1991 until his death in 2010.
A retired educator, with a long and distinguished career in Bartow, Fla., public schools, Beth touched the lives of many hundreds of students and adults. In her spare time, she loved reading, singing, sewing, and ballroom dancing.
She is survived by sons, Marc and Roger Leege; stepsons Daryl and Vernon Crandall, Jr.; along with five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be held at the Kennedy United Methodist Church on Sept. 21, 2013, for her northern family and friends.
Her southern family and friends will gather at the Villa Del Sol clubhouse in January at a date to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Beth should be made to the Kennedy (NY) Public Library, the Kennedy United Methodist Church, or Good Shepherd Hospice in Sebring, Fla.
