Reuben Johnson Wallace

Reuben Johnson Wallace, 89, of Hickory Tavern Community, husband of the late Margie Belle Richmond Wallace went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013.

Born in Athens, Ga., he was a son the late Robert Gabriel Wallace and Louie Lane Johnson Wallace.

He served in the Navy during World War II and was a faithful Presbyterian minister and evangelist for over 60 years.

Rev. Wallace served as pastor for churches in Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina. He served 14 years with Presbyterian Evangelistic Fellowship conducting revival services in numerous states and several foreign countries.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and first and foremost a devoted servant of God.

Surviving are three sons, Tim Wallace and wife, Donna, of Mesa, Ariz., Andy Wallace and wife, Kim, of Gray Court, SC, and David Wallace and wife, Christine, of Simpsonville, SC; five grandchildren, Jami Fallert and husband, Todd, Drew Wallace and wife, Kathryn, Brad Wallace, Joy Wallace, and Gracie Wallace; two great-grandchildren, Jacob Fallert and Megan Fallert; two nieces, Shellie Duncan and husband, Frank, of Bartow, Fla., and Barbara Hrabel of Barstow, Calif.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was predeceased by two brothers.

A memorial service is 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at Friendship Presbyterian Church conducted by Rev. Ned Worstall, Dr. Jerry Lindell, and Dr. Robert D. Cathcart, Jr.

A private burial will be held in the church cemetery.

The family will be at the home of Andy Wallace, 287 Bolt Road, Gray Court, Hickory Tavern Community, and will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the memorial service.
