Milton Wilson Lyle, age 92, of Bartow, Fla., passed away peacefully, from natural causes on Sept. 30, 2012.

He was born and raised in Bartow; he was a graduate of Summerlin Institute, and a World War II veteran of the Army Air Corp as a crew member on B-17s and B-29s.

He was a retired citrus grower and was a Realtor.

He was a lifetime member of the ARP church, a past president of the Bartow Board of Realtors, and a member of the Bartow Lions Club and the American Legion. He was a charter member of the Peace River Country Club and served as a director.

Milton was predeceased by his parents, W.A. and Estelle Lyle; sisters, Opal Garrett and Louise Anderson; brothers, Raymond Lyle, Grantham Lyle, Joe Lyle, Clifford Lyle, and wife Doris Collins Lyle, his son’s mother.

Milton is survived by his wife, Anita Doke Lyle; Anita’s daughter, Susan Brooks (Bob) of Charlotte, N.C.; his sister, Lucile Hastings of San Antonio, Texas; and his son, Robert Jamison (Carol) of Atlanta.

Milton “Papa” loved and adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren — grandson Scott Jamison (Darice) and their children, Zachary, Patrick and Lisa of Atlanta; and granddaughter, Cindy Jamison Taylor (Tim) and their children, Katie, Emily and Mason of Dyersburg, Tenn.

Visitation: With the family prior to the service at 10 a.m. in the Whidden-McLean Funeral Home,

Funeral service: Wednesday, Oct. 3 at 11 a.m. in the Whidden-McLean Funeral Home Chapel. The Reverend Rob Patrick will officiate.

In lieu of flowers please send donations to Grace Manor Suites Assisted Living in Lakeland, Fla. or the ARP Church in Bartow, Fla.
