The memorial service for Randall N. Smith, 66, of Aberdeen, S.D. will be 2 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Marcia Sylvester officiating.

Burial will follow at Northville Cemetery, Northville, S.D.

Randy died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012, at Aberdeen, S.D.

The family will receive friends after the service at Gallery Go on Main at 126 S. Main St., Aberdeen.

Randall Neil Smith was born July 13, 1946, in Aberdeen, S.D., to Louis and Marilyn (Martin) Smith.

He grew up in the rural Mellette area attending school at Brentford. He served in the Army Reserves and graduated from NSU with a degree in art. The artist, rn smith, was well-known through the country for his ethereal watercolors.

Grateful for having shared his life are his daughter, Letitia Pearle Smith; sister, Karel (Marvin) Hammer, Bartow, Fla.; brother, Barry (Bernadine) Smith, Aurora, Colo.; aunt, June (Martin) Decker, Las Cruces, N.M.; uncle: Donald (Joyce) Martin Cottonwood, Ariz., cousin/caregiver, Jan Waltman, Aberdeen; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his daughter, Ursula Dylan Smith; parents, Louis Smith, Marilyn (Martin) Smith, grandparents, Hugh and Jennie Smith, Frank and Pearle Martin.
