Ralph Hamlin Mann
Ralph Hamlin Mann, 89, died on Friday, Sept. 7, 2012.
He was born Thursday, Nov. 2, 1922, to the late Frederick B. and Aline Geohagen Mann.
Ralph was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He went on to be an aviation mechanic with the Civil Service, retiring from the U.S. Naval Air Station
at Jacksonville where his specialty was the PBY.
He was a Boy Scout and a member of the Thonotosassa Missionary Baptist Church, where he had been active in the church’s youth group. There was nothing more important to Ralph than his family.
He was the beloved husband of the late Velna Inez Mann, and was also preceded in death by a son, Kenneth, and a grandson, Larry.
Surviving are grandsons Terry Mann, Garry (Stephanie) Mann, Jerry (Kari) Mann; sisters, Frances Smith and Inez Cobb; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 12, at Haught Funeral Home Chapel,
708 W. Dr. MLK Jr. Blvd., Plant City.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, Sept. 13, at 11 a.m., at Welcome Primitive Baptist Church, at the corner of County Roads 555 and
630 in Fort Meade. Burial will follow with Navy honors.
