TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush is visiting state legislative leaders to talk about education and immigration.

Bush made an unannounced stop at the Florida Capitol on Thursday where he met with House Speaker Will Weatherford as well as Senate President Don Gaetz. He also gave a brief speech to House Republicans.

Weatherford says they had a candid conversation about several issues, but did not discuss specific legislative proposals such as Gov. Rick Scott’s plan to give teachers a $2,500 pay raise.

Weatherford says Bush told House Republicans about being bold and pushing innovative proposals.

Bush did not meet with Scott. The current governor is in South Florida where he attended a ribbon cutting for a company that announced last year it is expanding its Florida operations.
