Polk's interim School Superintendent John Stewart spoke to the legislative delegation Monday about the concerns of the district, including the need for fairness in school "grading" and the need for more local autonomy and decision-making power.

Monday morning Assistant County Manager Lea Ann Thomas presented state lawmakers the county’s top five concerns in the annual legislative delegation meeting.

State Senators Denise Grimsley, Kelli Stargel and Darren Soto were present, as were Florida Representatives Seth McKeel, Ben Albritton, Neal Combee, Mike LaRosa and John Wood.
