Roses to remember
A large gathering of family and friends were on hand last Wednesday as the Fort Meade Garden Club dedicated a rose garden in honor of the late Bettye Barnett.

As June Shirley pointed
out, roses can symbolize many things.
But the ones recently planted on the southwest corner of Charleston Avenue and Broadway were there for one main reason: To pay tribute to long time Fort Meade Garden Club president Bettye Barnett.
