A big gift from Mosaic Fertilizer LLC might pay even bigger dividends early next year for Fort Meade electric users.
The local mining giant donated a little-used 1,000 kilowatt generator to the city earlier this month. Once it goes on line — perhaps as soon as April — city officials hope to use it to reduce monthly electric bills here.
