Enterprise zone moving ahead

This image represents the communities in southern Polk County that are seeking to establish an Enterprise Zone.
Frostproof is the latest city to join in a league of municipalities that want to be part of an enterprise zone in the east part of Polk County.
The city gave its approval to the move at a meeting earlier this month, and it will be included in a resolution that Rep. Ben Albritton plans to give to the state Legislature in its next session. His bill would authorize a zone that will include Polk County, Frostproof, the city of Bartow, the Bartow Airport Authority, the Bartow Community Redevelopment Agency, Eagle Lake, Fort Meade, Lake Wales, Mulberry and Eloise.
