LaBadie finishes second

ENGLEWOOD — Englewood’s R.J. LaBadie Construction Cal Ripken major division baseball team finished second in the area tournament Saturday, losing to the Punta Gorda Rays 12-2 in the championship game at the Englewood Sports Park complex.

R.J. LaBadie, which finished the season at 12-6-2 and captured the Englewood major division championship, fell behind early and couldn’t catch up. The Rays defeated the Englewood Lemon Bay Funeral Home team 17-3 in the semifinals earlier Saturday.
