PUNTA GORDA — The Charlotte High School boys basketball team had too little, too late against visiting Port Charlotte.

Down by as many as 22 points in the third quarter, the Tarpons were able to pull back within three but couldn’t finish the fourth-quarter comeback Friday, losing 51-48 to the Pirates on the first day of the Wally Keller Classic.
