PORT CHARLOTTE — Port Charlotte High School’s boys soccer team put on a solid offensive show and took a 2-1 victory Monday against visiting Charlotte for the Pirates’ first win of the season.

The Pirates trailed the Tarpons 1-0 at halftime but scored two goals about 10 minutes apart in the second half to take the victory. Junior Cody Uttermohlen took a cross pass from D.J. Botts and fired the ball in from about 10 yards out to tie the score. Senior Daniel Rovegno scored the game-winner on a header from the left side off a pass from Dylan Petrizzo with about 15 minutes remaining.
