Carolynn Sue Ratliff, 67, of Englewood, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at Tidewell Hospice in Venice, Fla.

She was born Jan. 29, 1945, in Grundy, Va., to Kermit and Gladys (nee Rife) Smith.

Carolynn had been a resident of Englewood for 27 years, coming from Pikeville, Ky. She was a charter member of the E. Englewood Church of Christ. Carolynn was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker for her family.

She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Jim Ratliff of Englewood; daughter, Suzanne Canada of Pikeville, Ky.; son, Jimmie D. Ratliff II of Englewood; grandchildren, Joshua Tyler Ratliff of Crystal River, Fla., Boden Christopher, and Jordyn Caroline Canada, both of Pikeville. Carolynn is preceded in death by her parents; and four brothers.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at the E. Englewood Church of Christ, 9600 Gulfstream Blvd., Englewood.
