The Woolverton Trail is a popular Placida kayaking destination. Ed Woolverton, the man who discovered the old mosquito ditches, is considered a Placida legend.

While the Woolverton Trail is a popular Placida kayak destination, many people think the man who first found the trail is also special. According to Capt. Marian Schneider of Grande Tours, many come from near and far to kayak what was once a "secret" trail.
