MacKenzie is a lovely Alaskan husky, about 11, and her sad story has a happy ending because Sharon and Smitty Barco of Englewood were in the right place at the right time to give her a home.

MacKenzie’s troubles started in March when her original owners decided to introduce a new husky puppy. Apparently, MacKenzie did not take to the new puppy, so the owners decided to surrender her to Suncoast Humane Society.
