I read your column last week about our great restaurants in North Port. As I am a veteran of Vietnam and new to the area, is there a VFW around?

Oh yes, there is, as well as an American Legion right here in North Port. Let me tell you first about the William A. Garvey VFW Post 8203, which is located at 4860 Trott Circle, right off Pan American Blvd. You can find me there every Monday night for wing night. They have excellent wings and they are not split, you get the whole wing for just 75 cents each. You can get them breaded, Italian, really spicy Cajun and my favorite, naked.
