ENGLEWOOD — Plans to expand State Road 776 are still under way, but they’ve slowed to a snail’s pace on a Sunday stroll.

Transportation planning is a slow process in itself, and completing work on a project within five years is “lightning speed,” said Gary Harrell, principal planner with the Charlotte County-Punta Gorda Metropolitan Planning Organization.
