When it comes to overseeing the legal affairs of Charlotte County, Janette Knowlton is doing a “average” job. That’s according to three of five county commissioners who recently evaluated the county attorney’s 2012 performance.

Knowlton, who oversees a legal team of roughly 12 people, is one of three employees who reports directly to the commission — and with an annual salary of $154,000, she also is one of the highest paid.
