Support for C.A.R.E. growing in Englewood

Englewood was represented at the recent Center for Abuse and Rape Emergencies annual appreciation breakfast. Members of the GFWC-Rotonda West Woman’s Club in attendance included Linda Griswold; Kay Tvaroch, chief operating officer of C.A.R.E.; Germaine Meilach and Delphine Stebner. Plan to attend the GFWC Fall Tea Party at 1 p.m. Oct. 13 at Community Presbyterian Church, 405 S. McCall Road, Englewood. The tea party will benefit C.A.R.E. and Backpack Kidz which provides backpacks of food for low-income schoolchildren. The afternoon will include door prizes, raffles and entertainment by dancewithjanis.com. Bring your favorite teacup and wear your prettiest hat. Tickets are a $15 donation. Call 941-697-5303.
