Returning eagles not shy

Starr Zachritz,director of the History Park Art Gallery Gift Shop at the Punta Gorda History Park, snapped this photo of a bald eagle Sunday, during the regular weekly farmers market at the History Park. The bustle of the market didn't seem to faze this raptor much.

PUNTA GORDA — A pair of bald eagles that have nested next to the Punta Gorda History Park for the past three years have returned — despite the bustle of activity occurring in the park.

That thrills park business managers, because it gives the public a chance to observe the majestic raptors up close — and that gives visitors another reason to appreciate this area’s heritage.
